I took my 3 classes on a rainy day! Tom was VERY accomodating. The gentlemen were very patient and knowledgeable. Great trip, the kids really enjoyed it.

The exhibits are very fascinating but the best part is speaking to the volunteers that work there. Most of them are war veterans and have excellent stories to share.

Defending New York City

Fort Hamilton's Harbor Defense Museum tells the story of New York City's defenses over time, the Revolutionary War Battle of Brooklyn, and is located in a historic caponier, part of the original fort.

Please call before visiting. This museum is located on a military installation. Government issued photo ID's are required for all adults, 18 years or older. Foreign visitor's should call the Fort Hamilton Visitor Control Center (718-630-4848) to insure that they have the required identification.
